Bayview Village 60th Anniversary Walking Series

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Bayview Village, the Bayview Village Association is pleased to sponsor a series of walks around Bayview Village throughout 2016. These walks will range from short, easy strolls along neighbourhood streets to more challenging hikes in our ravines.

The “60 for 60” Walk Challenge
We are challenging all Bayview Village residents to commit to walking a total of 60 km in Bayview Village in 2016. To help you achieve this goal, we are sponsoring a series of organized walks, including guided walks, group walks and self-guided walks.

  • Guided walks will have a formal guide who will lead the walkers on a themed walk
  • Group walks will have an organizer who will lead the group on a specified route, but no formal talk or theme
  • Self-guided walks provide detailed directions for you to walk on your own time

Our first walk on Saturday, May 7 will be a guided spring wildflower walk along Newtonbrook Creek led by East Don Parkland Partners founder Phil Goodwin. We will meet in front of at Forest Grove United Church at 10 am. This will be a 5 km walk of 1.0 – 2.0 hrs on relatively flat, dirt path. Please wear suitable clothing and bring water.
